Last week, we were on our way home from breakfast when we walked past a longkang next to the Gombak MRT station. I looked in and saw a black fur ball squirming inside. It was wet and shaking and had pointy ears. I thought it was a rat!

A lady was staring at it and she told me that it’s a little kitten (about a foot long) that was walking on the pavement along the canal when a motorbike roared. The poor kitty was so frightened that it jumped into the canal. It got wet. With the walls about 3 meters high, it was impossible for it to climb up!

It tried to hide in one of the drain holes on the wall. It actually managed to get its head in. I was so sad watching the poor kitty, I just had to do something! The lady said that it was in that position for two hours already… (more…)
